OUTFIT: COMING UP EASY

 

Ik ben zo lang op zoek geweest naar de perfecte wijde, witte blouse, en deze week heb ik hem gevonden bij de H&M. Ik vind hem prachtig, het is zo zacht en verfijnd, en ik hou van het kantdeel aan de achterkant. Het is een echte must have, je kan het op zoveel manieren combineren. De tas heb ik daarentegen al heel erg lang, maar ik pak hem nog steeds erg vaak. Helaas is het hengsel wel stukgegaan, maar dat heb ik weer vastgeknoopt. Wat we allemaal niet doen voor de mode!

I've been searching for the perfect loose, white blouse for ages, and I finally found it this week at H&M. I love this one, it's so delicate and I adore the lace part at the back. It is a serious must have, you can pair it with anything. I've had the bag for a very long time now, but I grab it very often. Too bad the strap broke, but I made a knot in it so that I could still use it. What we all do in the name of fashion!

SOMETHING NEW

Deze prachtige clutch heb ik gekocht op marktplaats, voor maar 10 euro! Toen ik hem kreeg, ben ik er meteen mee gaan spelen en ik kwam erachter dat hij bij meer dingen past dan ik had verwacht. Ik ben verliefd op de kleur, het materiaal, het formaat, gewoon de hele tas. Ik zal proberen er zo snel mogelijk een outfit post mee te maken! De nagellak heb ik gekocht bij de Etos, ik vind de kleur zo mooi! Ik heb al heel veel verschillende nude-tinten geprobeerd, en geen van allen stonden mooi bij mijn huidskleur, maar deze wel. Het is Bare Necessities van Rimmel, hij kostte 7 euro.

I found this amazing bag at martkplaats.nl, a dutch website for buying and selling second hand stuff, from cars to nail polish. It was only 10 euros! The day I got it I immediately started playing around with it, and it turns out to go extremely well with the rest of my wardrobe, way more than I expected. I'll try to post an outfit post with it as soon as possible! The nail polish was bought in a drugstore, I love its nude shade. In contrast to a lot of other nude polishes, this one suits me quite well. It's called Bare Necessities by Rimmel and cost about 7 euros.

Wat is er mis met blogger de laatste tijd? Posts komen niet door, en verschijnen dus niet op de blog, en de lay-out doet ook raar. Sorry, ik kan er niks aan doen, dus neem het me alsjeblieft niet kwalijk. Ik hoop dat ze het snel fixen, want het wordt erg frustrerend. Maargoed, sorry dat ik niet heb gepost deze week, maar ik heb het zo ontzettend druk gehad. Ik moest een PO (praktische opdracht) inleveren en had 4 proefwerken. What's up with blogger these days? Posts just won't show up on the blog, I don't know why, and the lay-out is not doing what it is supposed to to either. Don't pick on me for that please! I hope they're fixing it quickly, because it's getting on my nerves. Anyway, I'm sorry for the lack of posts the last week, I was extremely busy since there were a few big assignments I had to hand in, and as if that wasn't enough, my teachers decided to give 4 tests the same week to keep me busy at home (as if I wasn't already). Anyway, I'm back! And to make up with you, I have some very good news: Asos.com is giving a huge discount, 60% to be precisely, on all designer sunglasses! So if you always wanted designer sunnies, but simply never could afford them, take your chance! I'm considering to buy the Miu Miu sunglasses pictured above, since I always have a hard time finding glasses that actually suit me. What do you think, to buy or not to buy?

MATERIAL GIRL

Nu het zomer wordt, heeft mijn kledingkast echt een boost nodig. Nieuwe kleuren, nieuwe vormen en nieuwe materialen. Goed voor mijn collectie, slecht voor mijn portemonnee. Er zullen keuzes gemaakt moeten worden, want ik kan natuurlijk niet alles hebben. Anyway, dit is mijn wishlist op dit moment, met dingen die ik écht heel graag wil hebben.

With summer coming up, my wardrobe definitely needs a boost. Good for my collection, bad for my wallet. Choices need to be made, I can't have it all! No matter what, this is my wishlist for now, full of items that I really want to buy:

Naast deze waslijst, wil ik ook heel graag een nieuwe lens voor mijn camera kopen, een EF 50mm f 1.8 lens, waarmee ik nog betere detail foto's zal kunnen maken. Alsof dat nog niet genoeg was, hoop ik ook geld over te houden voor mijn trip naar Londen in de zomervakantie (al is het nog niet helemaal zeker dat dat doorgaat). En, misschien het allerbelangrijkst, ik hoop dat ik geen schulden zal hebben tot mijn 80ste om dit allemaal te kunnen realiseren.

Besides this all, I'd really like to buy a new lens for my camera soon, an EF 50mm f 1.8 lens, to make even better detail shots. If that wasn't enough, I also hope to save some money for London during my summer holidays (however, this is not entirely sure yet). And, maybe most importantly, I hope not to be in depth till I turn 80 for all this.

NEW LAY-OUT

Zoals jullie zien, heb ik de lay-out van de blog veranderd. Het is nu wat strakker, mooi clean en licht. Ik vond het eerst een beetje druk en zo aanwezig, nu is het wat zachter. Ik vind het zelf een grote verbetering, maar natuurlijk ben ik ook benieuwd wat jullie ervan vinden!

As you can see, I changed the lay-out of my blog. It's tighter, cleaner and lighter. I thought the old lay-out was quite rough, a little confronting, now it's softer and moe sophisticated (that's at least how I feel about it). I think it is a major improvement, but I'd like to know what you think too!

OUTFIT: LIBERATION DAY

Dit is wat ik gisteren aan had, helaas was het niet zo warm zoals het er op de foto's uitziet, maar ik vind het contrast van mijn blazer met het gras en de blauwe lucht erg mooi. Hopelijk wordt het vandaag wat warmer, op bevrijdingsdag! Over een paar uurtjes ga ik naar bevrijdingspop, het Haarlemse bevrijdingsfestival. Er komen ontzettend veel leuke artiesten, zoals Flinke Namen, Chefspecial en Kate Nash. Ik heb er echt heel erg zin in! Hebben jullie nog leuke plannen voor vandaag?

This is what I wore yesterday, unfortunately, the weather wasn't so good as it looks in the pictures, it was quite cold! However, I really like the contrast between my blazer and the grass and the bright blue sky. I hope it's gonna be warmer today, as it finally is Liberation Day! Which means that I'm off in three hours to visit the liberation festival held in my town. There are some great artists coming, I don't know whether they are known outside the Netherlands though, but I'm sure you've all heard of Kate Nash? Anyway, I'm really really excited, since it's gonna be such a great day. What are you plans for this thursday?

BACK FROM LONDON

Het is een tijdje geleden, maar ik ben jullie niet vergeten hoor, ik heb het gewoon ontzettend druk gehad. Nu heb ik vakantie, dus hoop ik wat meer tijd te hebben om te bloggen. Anyway, ik ben terug uit Londen! Op 15 april vloog ik naar de andere kant van het kanaal, om daar een cursus modejournalistiek te volgen op London College of Fashion (lees meer hier). Spannend vond ik het wel, want ik zou 3 dagen alleen in de stad zitten, en ik was er nog nooit geweest. Ik had natuurlijk mijn verwachtingen, en mensen waarschuwden me: Verwacht niet teveel, dan wordt je misschien teleurgesteld. Niks is minder waar natuurlijk, dus dit hield ik in mijn achterhoofd. Gelukkig voor mij werd ik absoluut niet teleurgesteld. Integendeel, het is misschien wel één van de geweldigste dingen die ik in mijn leven heb gedaan (tot nu toe). Na deze cursus weet ik heel zeker dat ik inderdaad modejournalistiek wil gaan doen en ik heb er ontzettend veel geleerd. Ik zal nog uitgebreider verslag doen van de opdrachten die we kregen, aangezien deze ook wel leuk zijn voor op de blog. Genoeg gepraat voor nu, on to the pictures!

Wow, it's been a while, but I didn't forget about you, I'm just really busy. Now, I have holidays so I hope I've got more time for blogging this week. 

Anyway, I'm back from London! On the 15th of April I flew to the other side of the channel, to follow a short course in Fashion Journalism at London College of Fashion (read more about that here). It was quite exciting because I'd be alone in the city for 3 days and I had never been there before. Of course I had my expectations, and people warned me: Don't  expect too much, you might get disappointed. A sure thing, so I kept it in my mind. Luckily for me I was definitely not disappointed. On the contrary, it perhaps is one of the greatest things I've done in my life (so far). After this course I am very sure about getting into fashion journalism, and besides that, I've learnt a lot. I'll get into detail about the assignments another time, on to pictures now!

Ik had geen tijd om alle toeristische dingen te bekijken, zoals de Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Abbey road etc. In ieder geval heb ik een reden om terug te gaan!

I did not have time to visit all the places I wanted, like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Abbey Road, etc. but at least, I've got a reason to go back there!
